A Letter of Gratitude For Social Change Central, and the Legends Building the Impact Movement with Blood, Sweat and Tears.

To all our fellow changemakers in Australia:

Recently, Social Change Central announced that they’re ceasing operations after more than 10 years of helping social entrepreneurs find the best news, events, grants, fellowships, awards and other opportunities to support us in developing our social enterprises.

This one hits hard, because it’s not just that we recognise the enormous contribution of Social Change Central to the social enterprise sector. We are also well aware of the effort, passion and dedication put into it by its founders, Jay Boolkin and Anne Lennon.

We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely acknowledge all the legends building this movement with blood, sweat and tears. Because there are too many people out there giving so much of their lives to make a difference, often without getting the recognition they deserve.

If you are reading this and identify as one of those people, thank you. Thank you for resisting and keeping going when you felt like giving up. Thank you for going the extra mile when you were stretched thin and felt the burnout of working intensively and under-resourced. Thank you for sacrificing time, energy and attention from your family and personal life to build your project. This work can be extremely lonely. There can be easier ways to live your life, but you choose to do the hard work anyway.

Looking forward, it’s deep, authentic collaboration, collective impact and the breaking down of silos which will truly catalyse change and make business for good business as usual. The wellbeing of the movement will be defined by the wellbeing and connection of those driving it.

At the Business For Good Network, alongside our Community Partners, Ambassadors and Collaborators, our support for changemakers, building the ecosystem, connecting the dots and providing help where gaps exist is unwavering.

We will continue to ensure you’re made aware of the most relevant opportunities, grants, funding, programs, fellowships and events to help you on your journey. Most importantly, we’ll ensure you’re not alone on the journey and can actively connect with and get support from other changemakers on the BFGN platform.

Thank you again Jay and Anne for your long term collaboration.
