About the Speakers
👤 Bianca Stern
Bianca is the General Manager and a founding member of All Things Equal, a social enterprise providing award-wage employment for people with disability in hospitality settings. With extensive leadership experience in the social impact sector, Bianca has a focus on disability, social enterprise, and philanthropy. She is a keen advocate for seeing young people in leadership positions and ensuring people with disability are meaningful contributors to society. Bianca recently completed a Post Graduate degree of Social Impact and is as energised as ever to be the change she wishes to see in the world. Bianca loves to eat vegemite with her scrambled eggs and drinks a strong cappuccino.
👤 Andrea Comastri
Andrea is Co-founder and CEO of Hotel Etico, the first award-winning not for profit social enterprise hotel in Australia, employing and training young people with disability, challenging the wider community to see both the human and economic value of an inclusive society and partnering with the Australian tourism and hospitality industry to make it the most inclusive in the world. A strong believer in the transformative power of social enterprises to create sustainable impact, Andrea is an expert changemaker with over 25 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector. He held executive, director and advisory roles in charities and philanthropy in areas including disability, youth unemployment, homelessness, domestic violence, addiction, aged care and education. Andrea is an Honorary Industry Fellow at the UTS Business School, 2022 AMP Foundation Tomorrow Maker and 2024 Westpac Scholar Social Change Fellow.
👤 Usman Iftikhar
Usman is a systems entrepreneur with 15 years of diverse experiences in for-profits and not-for-profits in multiple countries. He enjoys art, history, science, technology, music and education, with a futuristic outlook. Deeply curious, he loves to get his hands dirty, and feels a deep connection to the universe. His purpose lies in doing his bit to solve two major wicked problems—global warming, and the global refugee crisis. For this work, he was named 2018 Commonwealth Young Person of the Year amongst 1.4 billion young people living in 53 Commonwealth Nations by HRH Prince Harry at Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2018.
