About the Panelists

👤 Dr Werner Vogels
 Werner is a neuropsychologist with a background in academia, mental health, and leadership development. Originally from the Netherlands, he moved to Australia in 2009 and now calls Glenrowan home. As Manager of Impact and Reporting at the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation, he leads impact evaluation, supports program facilitation, and delivers mental health first aid training. Werner works alongside rural, regional and remote communities to grow collective leadership that supports self-determination.

👤 Shara Scott
 Shara joined the Goulburn Murray Community Leadership Board in 2025, bringing extensive experience in community development and strategic communication. A graduate of the Fairley Leadership Program, she is passionate about recognising and nurturing “pockets of brilliance” across the region. Shara champions initiatives that highlight regional talent, using storytelling as a powerful tool to connect communities.

👤 Jesse Mitchell
 Jesse is a Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Campaspe Shire with extensive experience in leadership development, education, and community programs. A Fairley Fellow, Jesse works closely with for-purpose organisations to deliver programs in employment, youth pathways, and leadership. Actively engaged in multiple boards and community organisations, Jesse is dedicated to accessible and inclusive leadership opportunities.
