What do surplus backyard fruit, broken appliances, building-site waste, old school uniforms, hard-to-recycle plastics and commercial food scraps have in common?
In a circular economy, none of them needs to be the end of the story.
This webinar will take you on a guided journey around Green Industries SA’s circular economy model, showing how different enterprises contribute to one connected system.
Sharon Ede from Green Industries SA will set the scene, exploring South Australia’s circular economy landscape, the role of government and what is needed to move beyond the traditional take, make and dispose model towards one that keeps products, materials and value in circulation for longer.
We will then move around the circle, meeting six South Australian enterprises working at different points within it. Through a series of short, practical presentations, each founder will explain what they do, the problem they are tackling and how others can buy from them, support their work, share their story or collaborate.
You will see how surplus produce can strengthen food security, discarded electronics can become an affordable parts supply chain, food waste can be transformed into protein and fertiliser, construction materials can be recovered, difficult plastics can become new products and school uniforms can stay in use for longer.
This is not a traditional panel. It is a visual tour of the circular economy brought to life through real enterprises, showing what each organisation does and how their work connects.
Along the way, you will discover where your own enterprise, organisation or interests might fit, and where new partnerships, suppliers and collaborations could emerge.

Sharon will introduce South Australia’s circular economy landscape, Green Industries SA’s role and strategy, and the importance of government support in helping circular enterprises and systems grow.

Fruit Share Adelaide is a volunteer-run charity rescuing surplus fruit and vegetables from backyards, farms and orchards. Since January 2024, it has mobilised more than 480 volunteers, rescued over 40,000 kilograms of produce and redistributed it through more than 130 food relief partners across 20 council areas.
👤 Kris James, Adelaide Electrical Salvage
Adelaide Electrical Salvage turns e-waste into a parts supply chain by recovering working components from discarded electronics, using them in repairs and making affordable parts available to repairers and DIYers across Australia.
👤 Jeannine Malcolm, Mobius Farms
Mobius Farms uses black soldier fly larvae to convert organic and commercial food waste into alternative proteins and sustainable fertilisers, reducing waste through insect bioconversion.
👤 Jeremy Dossor, Waste Not Site Management
Waste Not Site Management helps builders understand and reduce construction waste, recover valuable materials and reuse them in their highest-value form.
👤 Daniel Mee, Recycled Plastic Panels
Recycled Plastic Panels works with the local community to transform hard-to-recycle waste into 100 per cent recycled plastic panels.
👤 Sharon Colsey, Spinning Tops
Spinning Tops is developing a replicable second-hand school uniform system that makes donating more rewarding, buying more convenient and uniforms easier to keep in use.
