Join Brisbane's purpose-driven business community for an insightful day tour exploring a range of social enterprises and impact-driven organisations north of the river.
Impact Boom and the Business for Good Network (BFGN) have partnered with AMP Foundation and River North Community Foundation to create this excellent opportunity to hear from the founders of a range of impactful enterprises, see what's happening on the ground, expand your network and learn from key stakeholders across the ecosystem.
We'll jump aboard a bus in the CBD with co-hosts Tom Allen (Impact Boom) and Javier Casanova (BFGN) and visit the 2025 LMBA Social Enterprise Award Winner Help Enterprises. Help CEO, Steve Wyborn and team will share some of the key learnings from this social enterprise which helps people with disability lead fulfilling and independent lives. An insightful walk through the warehouse will see us discover what they've learnt after 50+ years of operation.
We'll then head for morning tea at Espresso Train Cafe (NCEC), where Richard Warner and NCEC Members will share more about the award-winning work being done since 1998 to create sustainable employment and training opportunities for people with cognitive and/or psycho-social disabilities.
Going north will see us arrive at WV Technologies, a majority Indigenous-owned, certified and award-winning social enterprise. Co-founder Kurt Gruber and team will show us around. WV Tech connect the dots around community-led, culturally-sensitive training and employment for Indigenous young people via secure IT asset disposal, the environment, and social impact for supply chain compliance at scale.
We'll be served a delicious lunch at Hip Hops Brewing, while hearing insights from a soon-to-be-announced panel. You will have the opportunity to drop next door to The Nest Community, a thriving social enterprise, built on community action which provides a welcoming space for women to connect purposefully through craft.
To cap the day off, we'll drop by Stationery Aid, and hear from Co-founder Alison Schutt who has a vision to renew stationery for planet, people and education. Stationery Aid collects and distributes refurbished school supplies to students in need across Australia.
We'll then get dropped back into the CBD, with new connections made for future collaborations.
Throughout the day, you'll also hear from Lucy Watson (Program Manager, AMP Foundation) and an array of Tomorrow Makers, including Ronnie Benbow OAM of The Carer's Foundation.
Ticket price includes bus transport, coffee/drink and light morning tea at Espresso Train, lunch at Hip Hops Brewing (drinks can be purchased separately at the bar) and the opportunity to meet a diverse range of purpose-led people!
